Mike Ware’s opening reception at Stoltze

This month Stoltze Design welcomes the work of artist Mike Ware into our studio. The son of a sign painter and the grandson of a Boston Globe typesetter, Mike inherited a love of typography and graduated from the Art Institute of Boston. In his personal work of assemblage and mixed-media projects, he continues to embrace type, surface, and spatial relationships. Primarily using found and recycled materials, he invites the viewer to discover the beauty in the abandoned.

Mike has worked as an art director for several New England advertising agencies including Arnold, Digitas, and Hill Holliday. His work has been featured on the cover of Communication Arts, MTV, and CBS News, receiving numerous awards including a Clio and an International Film and TV Festival of New York Award.
