Ellenzweig
Website / Digital
Ellenzweig is an architecture firm focused on the planning and design of facilities for science and engineering. The firm’s website, designed several years ago, made it challenging for them to promote their projects and vision of using architecture to promote social good and make the world a better, more sustainable place.
In 2023, Stoltze was engaged to redesign the website, including a refresh of Ellenzweig’s visual branding. Our goal was to create a clean, contemporary and sophisticated site design that reflects the organization’s position as a preeminent architectural firm focused on education and research projects. A revised information architecture and more straightforward navigation address findability problems alongside a user experience strategy that cross-pollinates thought leadership and project content to give site visitors a full picture of what makes Ellenzweig unique. The content management plan provides a clear organization for multiple audiences and a strategy for future updates.
Our solution is to showcase their gorgeous project photography on a site built with asymmetric modules adhering to a gridded foundation that allows for dynamic use of white space while maintaining a meticulously structured yet flexible responsive layout. The updated branding pairs their existing logo with a tweaked color palette and a contemporary open source font, chosen for its timeless design and legibility.
