The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art was built to be more than a museum. It was founded to spark curiosity and conversation, and to stir the creative spirit in all of us. Established in 1842, it is the oldest continually operating public art museum in the United States. It was envisioned as a place of learning and exchange — a space where extraordinary art lives, perspectives meet, and culture is set in motion. That spirit continues today.

Stoltze Design Group has partnered with The Wadsworth on various exhibition branding and publication projects since 2023. In 2025, the museum worked with Saffron, the London- and Madrid-based branding agency, to create a new identity. Stoltze Design was charged with enhancing and expanding the new brand across a wide range of applications, such as entry banners, exhibition graphics, advertising, and marketing materials, including the quarterly calendar redesign and assorted swag for their gift shop.
